If you’ve been hurt at work, one of the first things you should do is get good legal advice.  A call to an attorney is free and completely confidential.  You may not need to actually retain a lawyer – but you should definitely talk to one at the very beginning.  It’s too easy to make a mistake at the beginning that costs you at the end.

You must report your injury to your employer immediately if possible – a delay in reporting an accident can result in your claim being denied.  You have a right to medical treatment and financial compensation for your injury.  However, you have to prove that your injury arose out of a work-related accident, disease or medical condition.  Proving your case can be virtually impossible without knowing the law.
